SKB Bow Traveler Case Overview
Over the last several years, I have found myself traveling to hunts via passenger plane a lot more than I had in the past, especially for off-season or shorter-duration hunts with friends. For these excursions, I have been using a heavy-duty SKB double bow case. It has been working great, allowing me to put my bow in the case and then fill the rest with clothing and other hunting gear. The only problem is the case alone weighs nearly 30 lb, and with most airlines only allowing up to a 50 lb bag without the added baggage fee, I have been limited in the amount of gear I can put in the case.
With more of these hunts planned in the future, I am very excited to see SKB release the Bow Traveler Case. It’s built with a rigid, padded bottom compartment for your bow and a horseshoe-zip top compartment with room to store clothes and other gear. There are five pockets for accessories and XL heavy-duty wheels for easy rolling through the airport and elsewhere during your trip. The interior length of the case is 42” L x 20” W x 13” D, which should be big enough to hold most modern bows. The best part is, the case only weighs 13 lb, leaving you with room to carry nearly 40 lb of hunting gear. Although I don’t have this case yet, I plan to have one by May for my pig hunt in California.
