The Nosler Mountain Carbon Rifle

Let's just start out by saying the Nosler Mountain Carbon Rifle refuses to compromise!

The market for ultra-light, ultra-accurate rifles has grown from what was once a niche into a strong segment of the hunting rifle world. More and more people were opening their wallets to obtain the lightest rifle possible, but to obtain this level of weight, compromises often had to be made.

Nosler’s rifle engineers watched as consumers gave up a little accuracy to save weight, or took on a few extra ounces to enhance accuracy. Frankly, it made no sense to any of them. Why couldn’t a rifle be both lightweight and accurate? So, in true Nosler fashion, they built one that was.

The result is the Model 48 Nosler Mountain Carbon Rifle, a six-pound tack driver, with guaranteed sub-MOA accuracy. Every facet of this rifle, from features to performance, has been designed by experts in ballistics, stock design, and wrapped barrels. No part was left unexamined and the end result is a masterful blend of easy to carry and dead-on accuracy.

Starting with the heart of the rifle, Nosler’s rock-solid Model 48 action is paired with a match-grade, carbon wrapped barrel. Featuring cut rifling, the 24” light Sendero profile barrel maintains exceptional accuracy, while delivering sub-MOA groups.

This action is then glass and aluminum pillar bedded into an ultra-light Mountain Hunter stock. The 100% carbon fiber Aramid reinforced stock is finished in granite green and is waterproof, textured for grip, and completely impervious to weather warping.

Finally, a Timney trigger finishes off the rifle, giving a crisp, clean break and the two-position safety preferred by hunters. A tungsten grey Cerakote finish protects the action and light-weight aluminum, hinged floorplate.

Never ones to compromise on effectiveness, Nosler has chambered the Model 48 Mountain Carbon in a wide variety of cartridges, ensuring there is a model to meet every hunt. All of the most popular Nosler chamberings are also available: 6mm Creedmoor, 6.5 Creedmoor, 26 Nosler, 28 Nosler, 300 Win Mag, 30 Nosler, and 33 Nosler.

Weighing in at a scant six pounds, the Model 48 Mountain Carbon is perfectly balanced and feels like an extension of the arm when mounted. And unlike many of the ultra-light rifles on the market, the Model 48 Mountain Carbon delivers the utmost in lightweight, accuracy, and rugged dependability with a price tag that won’t break the bank.

Starting at just $3,140 the Model 48 Mountain Carbon offers performance and heft that meets, or surpasses, most of its competitors.
