Eberlestock Brute 3500

Eberlestock has an option for just about every person and purpose out there, and the Brute Series is another great one. This series was specifically designed to be an out-of-the-box pack for the western hunter who is looking for a high-quality all-in-one system. Featuring an internal frame, customizable comfort, an adjustable load shelf, elevated load lifters, and it’s rifle scabbard ready (highly recommend it). It’s offered in four different sizes and several color options with lots of organization at the ready.

I used the Brute 3500 extensively on a spring bear hunt in Idaho this year, and I was thoroughly impressed. When you’re hunting those steep Idaho mountains with heavy weight, comfort becomes essential, and as someone who has battled with lower back injuries, I won’t use a pack that I don’t believe in. The Brute’s lumbar support pad and cushioned hip belts were a huge plus for me and kept me comfortable the entire time. After a successful hunt with a beautiful bear, the pack out is where this pack shined even more. The load lifters and micro adjustments allowed me to keep the weight right where it was supposed to be, and I was able to fully focus on getting back to the truck.

The best part about this Brute 3500 is that it’s simple and ready to go right out of the box, and you can easily customize it to your body within minutes. I wish I had more photos of it in use from the hunt to share with you, but you know how it goes when you’re in the zone after a successful day and a heavy haul ahead of you. While I may not have captured the best photos, they are as real as it gets, and I highly recommend the Brute 3500 for your next hunt! Pedram Parvin's Gear List

Author

Pedram Parvin

Pedram is a self-described “gear nerd.” Although he often jokes about being a “diversity hire” or “foreign exchange student,” he’s easily the most American person you’ll ever meet. His goal is to take the experiences he’s had in the outdoors and make them translate to our readers along with his family, including his young son. “Ped” as he’s affectionately known, is obsessed with gear, but he’s also extremely passionate about the people behind the companies that make it. Many of Pedram’s articles go beyond the standard gear review model and into the stories and lifestyles of the folks who created the products and what those stories mean to us as consumers. Between his experience in education, knowledge of the outdoors and the hunting industry, and the friendliest writing voice we’ve ever read, you’ll never be disappointed reading something Pedram wrote.
